#Confidentiality agreement - (updated 2005-09-14)
 
  • Yoono will respect the privacy of users.

    Yoono does not collect or store any personal information of users. If they wish, users can identify themselves using a nickname/password. All communication with other users is optional and managed by each user individually. The email address, the blogs, the forums, the "my yoono" space and all personal information therein are optional and are intended to optimize the Service for users. Yoono never collects addresses/telephone information of its users to run the Service. For certain Services like "my yoono" or "publish a folder", you must create a nickname, which other users will know you by. You can also decide to create a public profile containing information about yourself - favorite pass-times, interests, photo etc...

    All information featured in your profile may be read by other users of the yoono site and the yoono Service. When you communicate with other users of the yoono Service via a forum/blog/my yoono or by sharing a folder or information feed, a link to your profile may be displayed. Remember that all personal information in a public profile or other public online media, may be gathered and used by a third party. We ask you not to supply personal information online to strangers who may use them for illegal or detrimental purposes.

    All information supplied by users while using the yoono Service are for use exclusively by yoono and are never divulged or marketed to third parties. All information is exploited for the sole purpose of improving the quality of the Service. The definition of the Service is that described in the general conditions of use on the site. Yoono does not use cookies.

    Yoono neither sells nor rents lists of users to third parties. We may occasionally use other companies to provide limited services for us. We will communicate to these companies only the personal information they require to carry out their service. They will be held to respect the confidentiality of your data and will in no case authorised to use the information for other purposes.

    Yoono can access your personal information or divulge it if the law requires or if we are convinced in good faith, that such action is necessary to adhere to legal procedures taken against yoono or the site; protect itself and defend the rights or the property of yoono; or, take action in emergency situations, to protect the personal security of users of the yoono services or members of the public.

  • yoono maintains your anonymity.

    Yoono is a collaborative service for search, management and sharing information. The favorites are published anonymously automatically in the central yoono data base and are at the disposal of the community of users. At any moment you may make a particular folder or all your favorites private. This means that the folders are no longer published in the data base but are simply stored on your computer locally. However we remind you that yoono is a collaborative engine. Thus, the power and relevance of the Service depends on the anonymous accumulation of the data base by users.

  • Yoono guarantees you advertising targeted to your interests and non-intrusive.

    Yoono takes its revenues from targeted advertising. Thus, yoono gathers and uses your information to to supply the services you require. They can include displaying content and personalized advertising, created from gathered information. Personal information means the content of your favorites, your information feedsand your subscriptions (to other users' folders) or publications. In no case shall we use personal information identifying you like your real location or your email address or other site which concerns you - blog or personal site for example.

    Most advertising banners which display on the yoono site of in the applciations are displayed by yoono. However, yoono authorizes other companies, known as advertising servers or third party advertising networks, to present advertising on yoono Web pages. Some of these third party advertising agencies may place a cookie on your computer to be able to identify each time they send an advert on the Internet. Thus, the advertising networks can compile information on which web pages you or other users of you computer, have seen their advertising and determine on which you have clicked. This information allows an advertising network to send you targeted advertising which it thinks you will find more relevant. yoono cannot access cookies which have been placed by servers or networks of a third party. The networks which use persistent cookies sometimes offer ways to refuse targeted advertising.   • Modification of this Declaration

    We will occasionally update this confidentiality agreement in order to take into account comments and suggestions of clients and companies. When we modify the present agreement, the term « update » will appear next to the title of the current confidentiality agreement. If changes have been made to the content of this agreement or in the way yoono will use your personal information, we will record these changes as a priority before applying them. We encourage you to check back with this agreement regularly in order to know how yoono is protecting your information.
